Book Donation Policy

Please check the Book Wish List from the "Books" sub-menu above.

Donations of books are always appreciated.  Please review the following guidelines when considering a donation:

Children who visit our summer bookmobile program sites will be invited onto the bookmobile to select a new book.  Donations of new books are always appreciated.

The Oswego Bookmobile offers books to children at numerous community events throughout the year including Harborfest, Oswego Farmers Market, Movies in the OPark, the Madeline Festival, and other special events.
Most books available for children at these events are "gently loved".
We want children to be happy with their selection and proud to be the new owner.  To this end we ask you to consider the following when selecting books for donation:
        • Are the pages yellowed, curling, torn or dog eared?
        • Is there writing or doodling in them?
        • Do they have an odor or stains?
        • Are they appropriate for children from pre-school to High School?

Book donations may be brought to the Oswego City School District Warehouse Office at 224 West Utica St, Oswego, NY during regular business hours between 8:30am-3:30pm.  Enter the building at the front entrance on Utica St.

Please leave us your name and address so can thank you.

For more information, please email us at or message us on Face Book at Oswego Bookmobile.

Oswego Bookmobile reserves the right to use or dispose of donated books in any way that it sees fit.

Monetary donations are always welcome, as are new titles listed on the wishlist page. A list of recommended titles is also available at the river's end bookstore, which honors a discount on books purchased for the Bookmobile.
