Oswego Bookmobile welcomes volunteers of all ages and abilities for short, medium, and long-term opportunities. You can help at a special event, work on a project or serve on a committee or the Board of Directors.

Creates, plans, staffs and manages special event activities such as appearances at special events, raffles, pancake breakfasts, restaurant fundraisers, etc.
Develops the seven week summer program: weekly themes, weekly STEAM activities, coordinate with OPL staff.
Maintains Best Practices in financial managment and record keeping. Identifies available grant opportunities: writing grant proposals, meeting application and reporting deadlines. Creates annual fundraising plan, etc. as well as organizing the annual mail campaign.
Identifies meaningful ways to recognise our donors for their contributions to Driving Books Home-Oswego Bookmobile. Organizes and executes biannual recognition campaigns.
Schedules inspections and renews registration. Schedules spring and fall clean-ups and secure winter storage. Coordinates with OCSD Transportation on maintenance and summer storage.
Networks with area school librarians and teachers to populate popular titles wishlists.
Attends book warehouse sales, organizes book storage space, sorts donated used books. Maintains online wish lists at the river’s end bookstore and Amazon.
The Student Advisory Council is open to Middle and High School students. The Student Advisory Council visits the bookmobile during programming, volunteers in the program and evaluates the program. They submit their review of bookmobile culture, activities, and selection to the Board of Directors, and makes recommendations to improve program delivery.
